Evola ‘the spider’ – how so many women were caught in his web
Translation of an article on Evola and women

“The door opened and a totally unknown energy attacked me like an animal. I hadn’t even seen him, but I felt a tremendous energy that took my breath away and threw me against the wall”. “He is my slave. I saw him cry so many times, rolling on the floor…”. “He looked like a fag in his wheelchair wearing his yellow jacket”. Incredible as it may seem, these three descriptions refer to the same person: Julius Evola. The first, that paints the thinker as a figure of irresistible magnetic charm, comes from Sigrid von Perbandt1, wife of the völkisch thinker Ludwig-Ferdinand Clauss. The second, grovelling Evola, is Sibilla Aleramo’s portrait of him in her novel Amo, dunque sono (I Love, Therefore I Am). The short, vulgar final description comes from the advocate of armed resistance Pierluigi Concutelli, member of the Ordine Nuovo currently serving a life sentence. Three memories, three points of view that investigate, in radically different ways, the “erotic” dimension – in the broadest sense – of the Traditionalist writer.
